February Kindergarten Learning Targets

Phonics:

I can tap out the first, middle, and last sounds in words.

I can identify the sounds that digraphs make.

Reading:

I can use my strategies to read unknown words.

I can identify and read sight words in text.

I can identify the key details in a story, and retell the story with a beginning, middle and end.

I can identify my favorite part in the story.

I can identify the problem and solution in a story.


Writing

I can add details to my pictures and words.

I can write the sight words I know.

I can write one or more sentences that has an uppercase letter to begin, spaces between my words, and an end mark.

Math

I can identify the number partners of teen numbers as a ten plus ones.

I can add and subtract through 5.

I can compare two numbers and tell if they are equal or not equal.

I can put together 2 dimensional shapes to make new shapes.

I can use 5 groups to help me count larger numbers.
